A new TIME For Kids classroom publication titled Technology for All: Wi-Fi Around the World cites the work of young Arviat filmmakers and includes voices from the community describing the stories they want to share.
The 30-page booklet was written for elementary school readers and was made possible with support from Arviat youth and parents to co-authors David Bjerklie and Tim Pasch when they visited in the summer of 2016.
The book will be used in classrooms in the United States and other countries around the world. A very special thank you to David Bjerklie from TIME for KIDS for working with Inuit students and youth in our community.
Copies and more information about the book can be found here.
Thank you to Timothy Pasch from the University of North Dakota; David Bjerklie from TIME for KIDS and the Rosalynn Carter Fellowship for Mental Health Journalism; Eric Anoee, Jr., Gord Billard and Jamie Bell from the Arviat Film Society for supporting this year’s digital literacy workshops in Arviat.
